Where whitegoods retailers fall short.

Having installed thousands of air conditioners over the last twenty years, there’s a common phrase that seems to pop up during and air conditioning installation…

I never new it would be this complicated!!

The comment rings true with most every installation, clients often miss the truth behind an air conditioning install and often seek the cheapest unit to reduce costs. This is often due to white goods retailers never having the experience of installing one themselves and cannot fathom the hundreds of steps, the specialised equipment or the technical expertise required to mount, connect, test and power an air conditioner.

Consider that the variables involved in the installation process start with the ideal unit for the volume, the room’s environmental criteria, the client’s expectations, the aesthetics of the installation and we haven’t even scratched the surface of materials, handling and building infrastructure.

Whilst retailers offer great pricing, they don’t offer a finished product and cannot warranty the unit without pointing fingers at the installer first. This can often lead to a frustrating experience for a client and C.E.A has helped countless clients recover from a failed installation.

It is a specialised procedure that involves multiple disciplines to complete. gas fitting, electrical standards, double insulation, termination, circuit and system isolation, mounting and secure fixing, environmental optimisation and pre and post sales support.

So the next time you approach a retailer, ask them how difficult it is to install an air conditioner and what’s involved. After all, the objective is to cool your home, not create a heated argument after your purchase!
